What does the floor repair process include?

The floor repair process generally includes inspecting the floor for any damage, cleaning the floor to assess the condition of the surface and the extent of the damage, repairing any cracks or holes, filling in any gaps or cavities with a filler (resin, dust, or other), sanding the surface, staining and sealing it, and finally buffing and polishing the floor.

Depending on the type of floor being repaired, the process may also include the following:

  • Replacing any damaged floorboards.
  • Repairing any chipping or broken floorboards.
  • Re-grouting any existing parts.
  • Laying new boards or skirtings.
